Summary:

We performed a case study and planned the working mechanism of a web-app/community that helps rural farmers expand their company by searching, evaluating, and comparing possible land for future development. The details of the project are not disclosed due to ongoing development.

A.I. Based software for forecasting of NDVI satellite imagery and prediction of grape chemical properties at harvest.

Data pre-processing and Analysis with Artificial Intelligence methodologies to achieve state-of-the art spectroscopic analysis of grape contents from a hand held optical spectrometer.

Summary:

We performed a case study and developed a mock-up of a web tool for the wine industry which trained on current weather, soil and plantations map suggests new interesting locations to grow crops/plantations in the future considering the different (more or less conservative) projections for the climate change, made available by Copernicus.

Hardware

Extraction FAN IoT smart controller with differential temperature sensor with automated control of air extraction to maximize cooling of attic minimizing energy consumption. Based on ESP8266.

Worked as Shredder Engineer at the Precious Plastic v4 workshop in Eindhoven. Designed, manufactured and bench tested the double axes shredder working with Dave Hakkens. This shredder design was then adopted by the world wide Precious Plastic community.

Joining the Precious Plastic community in 2019.

Our 4-people team is based here in Trento and is composed by two Physics grads and two Engineers.

Reverse engineering of the common and cheap Oregon Scientific SL109H RF Temperature/Humidity Sensor designed for
The software reads RF packets through RTL-SDR. Later the bit-stream is converted though the reverse engineered communication protocol.
Everything runs on a RaspberryPi3+.

LiFx wifi controller and light switch.

Designed to provide a web-based simple user interface to interact with the liFx light bulbs without the need of installing an app on your phone.
At the same time the switch lets you turn your light on/off without your phone. Very useful for guest of non tech-friendly people. (My grandpa needs to turn lights on without a smartphone! :P)

cheap off-grid instant hot water heater.

The heater consist of a copper coil placed on a propane based gas stove.

The gas flow is controlled though a motorized ball valve to optimize water temperature.
When used without 12v power supply the water is pumped through the coil thanks to the “thermo-siphon” effect, water is too hot for shower, it has to be mixed with cooler water.

When used with 12v power supply (like a car battery or solar panel), the heater provides instant hot shower water up to 12liters per minute thanks to an electric pump.

Everything’s controlled through an ESP8266 WiFi enabled development board.

Currently making a cable running camera designed with reliability and simplicity in mind.  Record aerial style video where a drone is not allowed, like indoor venues or over a large group of people (concerts, sport events etc…)

Recently selected with our team for the Business Design 2022 organized by CLAB-Trento. The Business Design 2022 is a restricted access  startup incubator course in collaboration with HIT, CLAB, Trentino Startup Valley and the School of Innovation.
